Does TOS provide channels or movies?
No. TOS is a player: you add your own IPTV playlist. Information about new releases, ratings and cast comes from TMDB, the movie and series database, using your free TMDB key.
What is the TMDB key and why do I need it?
TMDB (The Movie Database) is a community database of movies and series. With a free key, TOS gets platform releases, ratings, posters, cast, similar titles and new episode dates from it. Create a free account on themoviedb.org, request an API key in your account settings, then paste it into TOS. Without a key, playing your playlist, the phone remote and parental controls still work, but not this information.
Can TOS replace my Google TV home screen?
Yes. The installation guide shows you how to make it your TV's home screen. All installed apps stay available from “Your apps” and the Apps tab. You can go back to the original home screen at any time.
How does the app know if a title is in my playlist?
It compares each new release with your playlist's content. If the title is there, it shows in green with “In my playlist” and plays directly. Otherwise it stays grey with “Not yet”.
How does TOS know which channel is showing a game?
The Sports page matches the game schedule against your playlist's TV guide. For every game live or coming up (today, tomorrow, this weekend or over 7 days), it shows the channels in your playlist that broadcast it: one click starts the game. You pick the competitions you care about, and TOS remembers. You can also add it to multi-view, set a reminder or record it.
Can I play my own movies, music and photos?
Yes. TOS plays files from a USB drive, a NAS (SMB share) or a DLNA server on your network. Your photos can also be used as a screensaver in ambient mode.
Can I try TOS before buying?
Yes. Install TOS with the Downloader code and, on first launch, choose “Free trial”. Every feature is unlocked for 3 days, no credit card. If you love it, buy your licence and paste your key: your settings, favorites and playlists are kept.
How do I install TOS on my TV?

Open TOS on the TV and on your phone, on the same Wi-Fi, then pair them. Your phone then works as a remote and a keyboard for your searches.
